Prima MkII Power Cable

The Prima MkII Power Cable incorporates engineering principles developed for Zavfino's Prima MkII Speaker Cable and Audio Interconnect, adapted specifically for high-current power delivery in high-performance audio systems. Designed to provide a stable, low-noise power path while minimizing unwanted interference, it combines carefully controlled conductor geometry with advanced insulation, shielding, and mechanical isolation technologies.

At its heart is a unique hybrid conductor architecture. Each conductor features a solid silver-plated copper center conductor, individually insulated with precision PE (Polyethylene) and surrounded by multiple precision-bunched OCC (Pure Continuous Cast Copper) strands. This combination brings together the high-frequency performance and stability of the centrally located silver-plated conductor with the conductivity, flexibility, and current-carrying capability of the surrounding OCC copper bundles, creating a highly controlled power-delivery structure.

Before insulation, each conductor undergoes Zavfino's proprietary ultrasonic cleaning and thermal conditioning process, designed to remove residual drawing oils, surface contaminants, and manufacturing impurities. Following conductor assembly, the completed power core undergoes a second ultrasonic thermal conditioning process at higher voltage, further conditioning the conductor assembly and helping reduce break-in time while maintaining consistent electrical performance.

The conditioned conductors are pressure-extruded with a premium 105°C PVC dielectric, providing insulation and long-term electrical stability. A 50% overlap PTFE wrap adds further dielectric isolation, while a pure cotton dielectric filler helps maintain precise conductor spacing and provides mechanical damping within the cable structure.

Power integrity is further supported by a carefully engineered multi-layer shielding system consisting of a fine-strand copper braided shield, aluminum Mylar foil shield, and dedicated drain wire. This architecture is designed to reduce the influence of EMI and RFI interference and provide additional isolation between the power conductors and the surrounding environment.

The cable is finished with a durable PET monofilament outer braid, providing mechanical protection, flexibility, and a refined appearance. Each Prima MkII Power Cable is terminated with Zavfino's precision-engineered audiophile-grade AC connectors, selected for secure mechanical contact, low contact resistance, and long-term reliability.
